Our Mechanical Team designs, iterates, and integrates all the hardware for our competition vehicles. Ranging from frames to hulls to torpedo firing mechanisms, we place an emphasis on developing our students' hands on skills.
Our goals for this season are to:
Redesign a new MiniSub from the ground up.
Implement a new hull cap to add Stereo Vision capabilities to the sub.
Replace our pneumatic droppers with an electrically actuated system.
Develop a new system for firing torpedoes.
Create new structures to hold our inter-sub communication modems.
Although we perform at a high level and produce fairly complex solutions for competition, what we do encompasses all levels of ability and dedication. By focusing on developing students' engineering abilities regardless of previous experience, there is a place for anyone on the Colorado RoboSub Mechanical Team.
